False Flags – Hexmachine

Crawling from the smoking wreckage of several other bands (Red Stars Parade, Whores, Whores, Whores and Year of the Man) 4 individuals haul themselves up, patting out the last embers of stray fire and brushing off the coating of dust debris. False Flags have arrived and they hit hard.

Keep It Fast’s Top 10 albums of 2020

God, 2020 has been a shitshow of epic proportions. Some big hitters, familiar faces and surprises lurk in Keep It Fast’s top 10 of 2020, take a look!

Booji Boys – Weekend Rocker

So, what do you need to know about Weekend Rocker then by these Halifax lads, the Booji Boys then? It’s brief, I mean – at 12 tracks and 27 minutes (one of those tracks being over 7 minutes long) you barely have time to gulp a mouthful of air as another song launches itself at you from a huge stack of speakers.

The Bronx – V

If one photo summed up The Bronx, it’s in underlay card on this, their fifth album. It shows vocalist and professional “bear impersonating a man” Matt Caughthran, standing in the middle of a circle pit, microphone in hand, ready to scream some immortal and terrifying word to signal the rest of his band to collapse this ring of people in on itself.

Brawlers – Romantic Errors Of Our Youth

An autobiographical streak runs through Brawlers’ sound – from the brisk story-telling of Annabel to the girl-chasing bounce of Two Minutes and the drunken bar room chant of the album’s title track, hearts are very much being held up to your face, with the bloody viscera dripping all down your front.

The Instigation – No Way Out

Punk rockers The Instigation have no off switch. Even if you tried to calm them down (holding up photos of kittens, administering some kind of knock-out gas) you’d probably be rewarded with a beer to the face, some cackling laughter and being immediately ordered to stage-dive off a stack of amps.

Besta/Englemaker – Split 7″

According to Englemaker’s facebook they “tune their guitars to C# like Master of Reality, listen exclusively to Bolt Thrower and the ZZ Top Eliminator album, and are currently planning to come and lay waste to your town.”
